Why can't I find the user I need to add to my REDCap database?
If you’re adding someone to your REDCap project and they do not appear in the autocompleted list of available users, there are a few reasons why this could happen.
Limited Search Results
The autocompleted list only returns the first 10 matching results alphabetically . If searching for a popular name, you may need to include the last name in your search as well.
The desired user (Emily Oehler) is not returned when searching just with first name.
Emily Oehler is the first result after including the beginning of the last name.
Existing Users
The desired user will not be returned in the search results if they are already listed on your project. They may have access under a different role, or they may have previously had access that has been expired.
Emily Oehler no longer returns in the search results since she is already on the user list.
Not an RDCRN Member
Finally, if the user is still not found, then they are not a member of the RDCRN network and an RDCRN account will need requested.
