Option C: Logging into the RDCRN Members Page with Login.gov

The DMCC team is very excited to offer its users the option of logging in using login.gov. You may create a login.gov account and log in using your login.gov username/password if:

  • your institution or affiliated institution is not on the dropdown list on the RDCRN login page and does not have the capacity or interest in setting up federated identities with RDCRN

  • you do NOT have an NIH or eRA Commons account

Account creation process with login.gov:

  1. Your login.gov username must be the same as the e-mail address registered with RDCRN. Please ask us for help if you do not know which e-mail is registered with us, or fill out this form to request an account with the RDCRN. Please use an institutional/professional e-mail address rather than a freemail (gmail, yahoo, etc.).

  2. If you do not already have a login.gov account, use this form to go through the account request process. Please read the instructions to familiarize yourself with the process and the options. We strongly recommend that you use an authentication app as your second factor - this is by far the most convenient of the options provided!

  3. Once you have created an account with login.gov, you can now log in by following the steps below (see visual below):

    • Step C1:  Visit https://www.rarediseasesnetwork.org/ and choose “RDCRN Members Login” in the upper right corner of the page. Then, click the button on the bottom left of the RDCRN login page labeled “Login.gov.”

    • Step C2: Enter your new Login.gov username and password.

    • Step C3:

      • If your Login.gov e-mail address is already registered with the DMCC and associated with a consortium, then you will proceed to the Members Landing Page after confirming your e-mail address by clicking on a link in a message sent to your Inbox.

      • If your Login.gov e-mail address is NOT already registered with the DMCC and associated with a consortium, an Account Request form will appear.

      • Please choose your consortium, complete the form, and press “Submit.”

      • DMCC project managers will check with your consortium leadership and assign you to the correct permissions group.

      • NOTE: Please allow five working days for this process; we are likely to experience high initial volume of requests.
