Whenever a new user is added to Permissions Dashboard, they will automatically receive a Welcome Email (pictured below).
How it works
When a new user is added to Permissions Dashboard, they are automatically added to Active Directory, which triggers an add to the Active Directory group in MailChimp. Once in MailChimp, the email will fire off.
The email comes from support@rdcrn.org, which means a reply to the email will create a Helpdesk ticket.
To make changes to the Welcome Email, contact the Helpdesk.
Challenges
If a user's email address is incorrect when entered into Permissions Dashboard, the Welcome Email will not automatically resend when the email address is updated. This is because the RDCRN ID does not change when an email is updated, and Active Directory uses the RDCRN ID to communicate with all the different RDCRN tools (like MailChimp). If you encounter this scenario, you can ask Dakota Campbell to resend the Welcome Email manually once the email address is updated/corrected.
The Welcome Email contains general information that is applicable to all consortia. If you have consortium or protocol specific information you want to communicate to your new users, you will need to do that separately.
