What is reCAPTCHA in my REDCap public survey?
The Google reCAPTCHA feature is a free service from Google that helps protect websites from spam and abuse. It can be enabled on your public survey to help distinguish between human users and automated bots. A survey participant will never have to pass the reCAPTCHA test more than once per day on a given device/computer.
The Google reCAPTCHA feature is found in the REDCap database under Survey Distribution Tools → Public Survey Link.
For security, all public survey links in RDCRN REDCap should have reCAPTCHA enabled. DMCC admins regularly review survey links and will enable reCAPTCHA for any public survey links identified as missing the feature.
